    Visa information for visiting Germany<\/h2>\n

    Do you need a visa to travel to Germany for tourism?<\/p>\n

    That's a good question and definitely one to ask yourself if you're not sure, as travel visas can be complicated.<\/p>\n

    The answer to this question is: it depends.<\/p>\n

    Germany is located in the Schengen zone.<\/p>\n

    We won't go into too much detail about what the Schengen Zone is - that's for another article.<\/p>\n

    However, we will talk about the Schengen zone when it comes to visiting Europe (and Germany).<\/p>\n

    In a nutshell, the Schengen Zone is an area of continental Europe of 26 countries that allows free movement between them when you are in one of them.<\/p>\n

    If you enter the Schengen zone, American and Canadian passport holders will have 90 days of visa-free travel before leaving again.<\/p>\n

    It gets more complicated because you can only spend 90 days in any 180-day period, but if you're going for a short trip to Europe, you'll be fine.<\/p>\n

    Some passports don't just allow visa-free travel in the Schengen zone and require a Schengen visa to travel through the zone, so it's important to check with your country's government\/embassy<\/p>\n
