When I was growing up, I always felt that I was putting myself in an uncomfortable zone.
I don't like being in a comfort zone and always in an unstable situation, nothing is certain.
Before I set off on a cycling trip from Holland to Indonesia, I even made a statement:
"Where do you want to take my life?"
I feel a monotonous life, every day it's the only thing that pushes me over the edge.
When I was on a plane with Marlies Fennema, my partner who came from Holland
We joked about seeing the countries that passed from Indonesia to the Netherlands by land.
The desire was initially just our curiosity about life outside everyday life in general.
There's no thought of gaining popularity or even wanting to share it with anyone.
Although, in the end, we will direct the experience towards raising donations that will be distributed to humans, plants and animals through a photographic exhibition of the trip.
But the essence of our exploration has a great impact on ourselves.
Cycling through 23 countries and two continents from Europe to Asia, bringing a new perspective on life related to all living beings on Earth:
humans, plants and animals.
Our relationship, which combines only two different cultures (Indonesia and the Netherlands), has become an important point in this expedition in terms of thinking about life.
Add to that our discovery of culture, customs, food and the way different people in each city and country communicate and live their lives.
What a simple and inspiringwhere happiness radiates from those who have little choice.
They live with fewer options and don't have to make the effort to think about other options beyond that limited choice.
Not to mention our understanding of interacting with space, time and nature.
How small a person is on this vast earth.
